Technology has really changed our culture. This is true for all areas of life. Some I’ve talked to think this is a good thing, others don’t. I can see both points of view as I’ve always been a little slower to adopt it. But I finally broke down and bought a smart phone this year, and it’s really been an incredible productivity tool for me. I think in the end, technology, like most things, is what you make of it.

There really have been advances in a lot of areas for homeowners too. The quality of homebuilding and values have increased. I think the homeowner services have improved as well, from furniture to home services like roofing, etc. Home service contractors still can’t build and repair things up as fast as Amazon can deliver things (would you really want that? 🙂 ), but the speed and quality have definitely improved.

And I think decking has come a long way as well. I’m really impressed in particular with the decking materials today. I’m biased, as Tailored-Wood provides the best materials out there. Even manufacturers that have been slow to improve their products have made some progress. There’s always room for improvement, as we’ve strived for with Tailored-Wood. As a whole, homeowners have a number of good options today. And I think that’s a good thing.
